Should inclement weather or emergency situations result in the closing of Stigler Schools the information will be conveyed to the following television stations by 6 am:
Tulsa
Channel 2 - KJRH
Channel 6 - KOTV
Channel 8 - KTUL

Ft. Smith
Channel 5 - KFSM
    School Closure
  • When early morning weather and road conditions are too icy, especially for school bus transportation, the district will announce closure of schools over the stations listed above.
  • All activities scheduled in district facilities are cancelled.
  • In-district sports events and team practices are postponed. If a league event is scheduled in the district, the event is postponed. If the event is scheduled to be played in another district, the host district determines whether it is postponed.
    Early Dismissal
  • If serious storm conditions develop during the day students will be dismissed early. If it is deemed unsafe to transport a child/children home they will be cared for by the school until parents are able to pick them up. Should weather become threatening we encourage parents to stay tuned to television stations and pick up their children.
    Late Dismissal
  • In case of dangerous weather warnings, the school may hold students past their dismissal time for safety reasons.
